- How long does the procedure take?
The procedure usually takes less than 10 minutes.
- When should you see improvement after the injection?
Most patients will see improvement 2-6 weeks after the initial injection.
- How many treatments do you need?
Usually 1 treatment will help alleviate your pain. In some cases, additional injections may be helpful.
- What are the risks associated with PRP injections?
PRP injections are considered very safe procedures. There is no risk for an allergic reaction since it is your own blood that is used to inject the injured site. There is a very small risk for infection, which is essentially eliminated using sterile techniques.
- What should I expect after the procedure?
PRP induces a healing inflammatory response which can cause a temporary increase in pain and swelling after the procedure. This is expected and can be controlled with rest, ice and pain medication such as Tylenol. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories are discouraged as they can interfere with platelet function and healing. This pain and discomfort usually goes away after 3-5 days following the procedure. Activity for the first 48 hours after the procedure should be limited. You can gradually return to normal activities 2-3 days after the injection.
- Can I drive after the injection?
Generally speaking, it should not effect your driving, however, we advise for your own comfort to have someone drive you home.
- What type of doctor should you go to for a PRP, Cortisone or Stem Cell injection?
It is very important to choose a doctor who is very experienced in doing procedures under imaging guidance, especially ultrasound. With PRP injections, precision is crucial and even 1 to 2mm can make a big difference in terms of injecting in the correct place or not. An experienced musculoskeletal radiologist is the most qualified doctor for this procedure. In addition, a musculoskeletal radiologist trained in ultrasound can perform the procedure without the risks of ionizing radiation. A good result can end up saving you money and additional invasive and more costly procedures down the line.

- Who is not a good candidate for PRP injection?
Most people are eligible for this treatment. People with active infection, severe anemia, low platelet count or on platelett inhibiting drugs are discourage from doing the procedure. In addition, people with diabetes or infected from bloodborne pathogens are also discouraged from doing the procedure.
- What is the difference between Steroids injections and PRP?
Steroids are potent anti-inflammatory agents that will almost always help provide pain relief. The difference between Steroids and PRP is that steroids help provide pain relief but do not help repair the injured joint or tendon. Repeated steroid injections can also cause long term damage to the joint or tendon. On the other hand, PRP has healing properties that can help tissue regeneration. In most cases PRP will be able to help the joint, tendon or ligament heal and restore normal function.

Dr. Reza is a genius. My knee has been bothering me for YEARS since I tore my meniscus playing football. Achy, bothersome, with occasionally a limp. I went into to get PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and it was everything I thought it would be and then some. The whole procedure took less than an hour, very little to no pain and in less than 24 hours my knee felt brand new. If you are looking for a quality Doctor who offers PRP -- go here! The rates are very on point. He is literally THOUSANDS of dollars less than some other clinics and believe me he does such an amazing job, he could charge 10x's and it would still be worth it. Don't sit there suffering, get up and get help. I am actually thinking of getting my other knee done and its not really necessary. Lol.. 10 STARS...
Had the PRP procedure and I have to say no pain at all, going on 6 weeks, if you decide to have the PRP listen to Dr. Dehdari's instructions thoroughly and do the physical therapy, it works and I am so pleased and it's getting better and better as days go on, Dr. Reza Dehdari is the best and very emphatic in explaining all your questions soothing away your doubts, and he checks up on you to make sure all is well, after the PRP procedure. Very trustworthy PRP procedure and his assistant Sandy is also the sweetest caring person you will ever meet. I'm a satisfied customer and patient.

I was suffering from plantar fasciitis for 3 months. It has now been 4 weeks since my PRP treatment and I am now pain free!! Great clinic & staff and great natural treatment!
Quite simple experience. Showed up to appointment, I was taken right away to room for PRP injection. Doctor was friendly and willing to try to help me, while many other doctors just told me they did not know what I had and told me they couldn't help my pain and sent me away. Nurse was quite nice as well. Will return for second set of injections for more pain reduction.
Chronic pain in shoulder and upper arm relieved by Dr. Reza's Lavage treatment using needling and ultrasound combined with Cortisone. Very professional, clean, nice office surroundings and friendly staff.
I took my wife to Dr Reza Dehdari to inject a PRP shot. He did a great job a such a painful shot but my wife did not feel a pain at all. He is very caring doctor. He called a few time to make sure everything is ok. We highly recommending him. Thank you Dr. Dehdari.
